The BC Food Systems Network supports a number of listservs for the discussion of various aspects of food security around BC. Some of these listservs are focused on the concerns of specific bioregions within BC; some are focused on topics of special interest and have a province-wide reach.

An example of a bioregional listserv is the 100milefood list, which concerns itself with all aspects of food security relevant to folks in the South Cariboo region. An example of a special-interest listserv is the ifs list, which concerns itself with all aspects of indigenous food sovereignty throughout BC (and beyond).

All we ask of our subscribers is that they respect the general guidelines on listserv etiquette, and that they respect the specific focus of any listserv they subscribe to. In all cases, you are welcome to contact the listserv’s administrator if you have questions. Note that, with the exception of the members listserv, our listservs are open to all interested people, regardless of whether or not they are members of the BC Food Systems Network. In some cases you can subscribe immediately; in other cases, the listserv administrator must approve your request to subscribe.

Supporting these listservs is one way we’re helping to facilitate networking and conversations about food security all around BC. If anyone you know might be interested in participating in one or more of these listservs, please pass this information along. If you have a suggestion for a new listserv, please contact us.
